How long will it take to receive my stair parts?

Lead times for specific orders will vary, but generally, stock parts from our standard materials (i.e. Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, and Poplar) will ship within 2 business days. Custom parts including specialty wood species will require a 2 week manufacturing time and will require a quote to be made ahead of purchasing. For expedited shipping or delivery please call our sales associates who can also assist with questions regarding available inventory and custom parts quotes.

Is finish/staining on wood parts available?

Stairs and Stairways products are shipped ready for staining and sanded to a 125 finish. We do not offer pre-finishing of our wood stair products. Many of our paint grade products like balusters and risers can be shipped with a pre-applied coat of primer but a finish coat of paint will be required by end user.

Can parts found in your store be modified to fit my stair prior to shipping?

Customized parts can be manufactured in our facilities and can be purchased after contacting our sales and design staff for a quote to make certain that the particular piece meets your exact design and dimensional criteria.

Are any hardwoods available for purchase other than those found on your website?

Yes, we offer a wide variety of hardwoods in all of our parts and profiles. We carry many parts in our on-hand inventory in Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, and Poplar for faster processing and shipping; but we can also manufacture those same parts and styles out of a number of woods including but not limited to: Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry, Cypress, Teak, and other specialty and artisan woods.

Are parts for exterior stairs, rails, or fixtures available?

Many of the parts that we sell can be made using exterior grade glues and fasteners and are available for purchase through quote. Along with White Oak we offer several wood species including Teak, Ipe, and Mahogany which hold up well outdoors. Again these specialty woods are available for pricing and purchase through quote from our design team.

What do I, as the customer, need to provide to ensure my custom quotes and delivered product accurately fill my needs?

Our design professionals at Stairs and Stairways will work with you to certify that any and all design questions and challenges are addressed and managed. To do this a simple sketch with relevant dimensions of the project location, or if possible, a set of blue prints or plans, and a few pictures can greatly expedite the process.

What is your return policy?

Stair and Stairways wood parts are not refundable. Metal products such as balusters, shoes, and posts are returnable with the understanding that they have not been modified or altered in any way. Returns for eligible parts must be made within 30 days and will be subject to a 25% restocking fee WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Exchanges for alternative or replacement parts must be handled over the phone through one of our customer service associates and will be handled in a case by case basis.
